At present, the main dilemma of the development of our country's paper industry is still reflected in the two problems of environmental pollution and energy shortage. 

In the increasingly competitive situation, we all need to gradually implement the dual policy of energy saving and emission reduction, so that enterprises can take cleaner production.

The running state of steam condensate system and ventilation system in the drying section of paper machine with closed hood is closely related to the effect of energy saving. 

However, for a long time, most of the research work has mainly focused on the steam condensate system, but ignored the effect of ventilation system on the energy consumption of the drying section. 

After a systematic study of the factors affecting the energy consumption and the distribution of energy consumption in the drying section of the paper machine, the optimization scheme of energy consumption in the drying section is put forward, with emphasis on the energy consumption model of the ventilation system, and the energy consumption of the drying section is reduced by optimizing the parameters. At the same time, the automatic control system of the drying section is designed to reduce the energy consumption of the drying section step by step, which can be summarized as the following four aspects:

Optimization of closed hood

The main contents are as follows: (1) the analysis of the optimization direction of energy consumption in the drying section of the paper machine with closed hood. 

According to the drying process of paper sheet, the drying section is steam condensate system and ventilation system, and then the energy consumption distribution characteristics and influencing factors of steam condensate system and ventilation system are analyzed. 

For the steam condensate system, the energy consumption is constant when the steam supply mode is certain and when there is no stagnant water in the dryer; while for the ventilation system, the energy consumption is constant when the supply air temperature and humidity, arrangement and dryer are not stagnant; and for the ventilation system, the changes of supply air temperature and humidity, exhaust air temperature and humidity and supply air volume exhaust air volume will lead to great changes in system energy consumption. 

Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to reduce the energy consumption of the drying section by optimizing the parameters of the ventilation system. 

(2) The establishment of mathematical model of energy consumption of ventilation system. 

Through the material balance calculation of the ventilation system, the energy consumption optimization mathematical model between the supply air temperature of the ventilation system and the energy consumption cost of the system is established, and the optimal supply air temperature value is solved by genetic algorithm, so as to ensure that the energy consumption cost of the system is lower.

(3) The design of control strategy of ventilation system.

Taking the PLC of Siemens S7-300 series as the hardware development platform, Siemens WinCC6.0 and Step7 as the software development platform, forming the three-level DCS hardware development platform, Siemens WinCC6.0 and Step7 as the software development platform, constitute the normal operation of the three-level DCS drying process. 

At the linkage level, each small unit is connected to adapt to the change of output and the modification of process parameters, and to increase the flexibility of the system. 

At the optimization level, the energy consumption of the drying process is optimized to ensure that the energy consumption cost of the drying process is lower.

Similarly, this research content has been applied in the papermaking production lines of some manufacturers, and the application results also show that the energy consumption optimization effect and design control system proposed in this paper have certain feasibility. It can effectively reduce the energy consumption of the drying section of the paper machine and greatly improve the utilization rate of resources.
